In 1907, Lillian Crewe Walsh wrote a poem in praise of the Island. The colour scheme was based from the poem, designed by Elizabeth Grant in 1957.

Why I wrote this Book ...

I am Val Helmond, born and raised in Nova Scotia, namely Truro. I enjoy exploring many areas of the province and with the pandemic finally feeling over, I feel now is the time to develop this idea for a book.

Road Trip, let alone an epic one !

What is the weather like between June and September?

Summer temperatures are pleasant between 20-23 degrees Celsius ( 67-74 degrees Fahrenheit). 

30-32 degrees Celsius is rare. Fog is frequent along the coasts.
